All Saints Evensong
Parishioners of Grace Church present this joint performance and worship opportunity highlighting two observances of the liturgical season: the Commemoration of All Souls and the Feast of All Saints. Joined by string quartet and harp, the combined choirs of Grace Church offer Gabriel Faure’s tranquil Requiem followed by a traditional Choral Evensong. The
beloved devotional institution of Evensong is considered the summit of choral activities in the Episcopal Church and contributes richly to the treasury of Anglican hymnody, psalmody, canticles and seasonal anthems.

Sunday, January 12 at 4:00 p.m.
A Wintry Mix
Our popular annual Children’s Concert features a narrated performance of Howard Blake’s The Snowman and a sing-along from the hit motion picture, Frozen. A hot chocolate social will follow in the church Undercroft. Bring a pair of mittens, scarf or gloves to donate to the needy.

Saturday, February 1 at 7:30 p.m. –
 “An American Bouquet”
Pioneering violinist, Destiny Ann Mermagen, and pianist, Heather Adelsberger, are the first to record and release the complete Bouquet Américain by 19th-century Belgian composer, Henri Vieuxtemps on their 2018 album, Bach to Barn Burners™. These virtuosic pieces, with their distinct nod to the American fiddling tradition, are paired alongside African-American composer William Grant Still’s blues-inspired Suite for Violin and Piano.

Saturday, April 25 at 7:30 p.m.
Ceylon Mitchell and his Afro-Latino Chamber Ensemble
The acclaimed Afro-Latino Ensemble (flute, piano, guitar, cello, percussion, and avaquinho) demonstrates the unique development of Western-European classical flute music in the Latin American countries of Puerto Rico, Cuba, and Brazil. The ensemble’s founder, flutist Ceylon Mitchell II, was recently awarded a 2019 Prince George’s Arts and Humanities Council Artist Fellowship Grant.
