01:30 p.m. Unity Walk

Against the backdrop of violence and pain that we are witnessing in our country, many of us experience a daily struggle to cling to the positive values of compassion and civility that we need to thrive as a nation. To this end, neighbors across Montgomery County will come together on Oct. 13 to celebrate the diversity of our region, to visit houses of worship, and most importantly, to listen to each other and ask questions of each other. The walk is sponsored by Faith Community Advisory Council. People interested in attending the walk should meet at James Hubert Blake High School (300 Norwood Road, Silver Spring, MD). Festivities begin with a resource fair at 1 p.m. , followed by an opening ceremony at 1:30 p.m. and then a tour of houses of worship representing different faith traditions. For more information, contact Rev. Amanda.
