Music

The mission of the Music Ministry at Grace Church is to enrich worship through sacred music. Members of our ensembles discover meaningful connection and fellowship as we work to offer music that will enliven liturgies and inspire those in attendance. Our Chancel Choir consists of approximately 30 singers; over 40 children participate in offerings that range from early childhood music classes to formal chorister training.

Music of Grace, our in-house concert series, serves as a valuable outreach to the community, promoting a wide variety of concerts, recitals, and workshops that engage, educate, and inspire audiences.

CHOIRS

Join our choirs! All of our ensembles cheerfully welcome new members. To learn more, email Heather Adelsberger, Director of Music Ministries, or visit her at the organ console after any Sunday service.

CHANCEL CHOIR

The Grace Church Choir seeks enthusiastic, spirit-filled singers to enhance our ranks at the 10:30am service on Sundays. Rehearsals are held on Thursdays from 7:00-8:30pm. The Chancel Choir sings a wide range of sacred music, from plainsong to polyphony, spirituals to classical masterworks. Chancel Choir members qualify for additional benefits including prime seating during services and a standing invitation to post-rehearsal happy hour.

TREBLE CHOIR

Young people are encouraged to serve the liturgy with regularity. Youth choristers, grades 2 through 12, sing in the Grace Church Treble Choir which meets on Thursdays from 5:30-7:00pm. Choristers explore a diverse repertoire of choral masterworks and receive musical education based on the RSCM curriculum. After rehearsals, choristers gather for dinner, fellowship, and “Ask-a-Priest”, an open discussion about faith and spirituality guided by members of Grace’s clergy team.

HANDBELL CHOIR

The Grace Church Handbell Choir meets on Tuesday evenings from 7:30-8:30pm. Music reading ability is a prerequisite to join the Handbell Choir.

EARLY CHILDHOOD MUSIC

In addition to supporting communal worship, our music program provides musical education for very young children.

CHIMERS CLASS

Children ages 4-6 are eligible to enroll in Chimers Class on Thursday evenings from 5:30-6:15 pm. Young musicians develop their sense of pulse and learn to read notes and rhythms through tactile games and activities. At the end of each class, Chimers partner with members of the Treble Choir to learn proper vocal technique. Parents and young children gather for dinner and fellowship in the Undercroft following classes.

FAMILY EUCHARIST

Sundays at 9:00am, our community welcomes children in the worship setting; even the very youngest children can contribute to the music of our liturgies in a fun and nurturing environment at our 9:00am Family Worship service each Sunday.

Father holding young son comes to the front of the sanctuary to receive the Eucharist.

CONCERT SERIES
