The Rev. Aaron R. Dunn, Associate Rector
The Reverend Aaron R. Dunn is thrilled to be joining the Grace Church community and returning to Montgomery County after having just completed his M. Div. at Virginia Theological Seminary. There, he also earned a certificate in Muslim-Christian Studies through the Washington Theological Consortium, and was awarded both the Anglican Communion Prize and the Episcopal Preaching Foundation Award. An avid proponent of interreligious dialogue, Aaron has been involved as a discussion facilitator for interreligious organizations such as the Institute for Islamic, Christian, and Jewish Studies and the Rumi Forum. In 2022, he participated in the ICJS’ Emerging Religious Leader’s Program, focusing on Muslim-Christian Dialogue, and in 2023 he completed training as a Scriptural Reasoning facilitator through the Rose Castle Foundation. Most recently, he participated in the inaugural Congregational Leaders Workshop through the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum.
Prior to beginning his seminary training, Aaron served as the Vocal Music and Theater Teacher at the Charles E. Smith Jewish Day School in Rockville, MD. and before that as voice faculty and Director of Opera Workshop at Lincoln University. Aaron holds a Bachelor’s of Music in Vocal Performance from Baldwin Wallace Conservatory of Music, a Master’s of Music from the University of Tennessee, and has worked as both a vocalist and stage director. His wife, Jenni, is the Director of Choral Music at Gonzaga College High School, and this summer will begin pursuing a Masters in School Counseling through George Washington University. Aaron and Jenni are enthusiastic Disney adults, love to travel together, and have a thirteen-and-a-half year old Labradoodle, named Lina, who is the light of their life.
