D’Oniece Shaw Dillard, Director of Parish Administration and Communications

D’O began her tenure at Grace in August of 2025. Her church experience includes stints as Parish Administrator at The Falls Church Episcopal, Church Administrator at The First Baptist Church of the City of Washington, DC and Assistant to the Warden/Advertising Manager at the Cathedral College. She has also worked as Office Manager for an association and Director of Operations for a non-profit, both in Northern Virginia.
Epiphany, DC has been D’O’s home parish since 1988. She has served three separate Vestry terms (including Junior, then Senior, Warden from 2018-2020,) head of the Altar Guild, Seminarian lay committees, lector, usher and co-chair of the Search Committee that led to the call of Rev. Glenna Huber as Epiphany’s first person of color and first female Rector. In the Diocese, her participation includes terms as regional convener, convention delegate, head of lay registration and since 2018, Head Teller at Diocesan Convention (succeeding Grace member Steve Dean).
A proud New York City native, D’O has lived in several DC neighborhoods and currently resides in Chevy Chase DC. Her education includes a BA in History from Manhattanville University (formerly Manhattanville College,) an MA in Communications (with honors) from Trinity University Washington, and completion of the Education for Ministry course. She is an avid theater-goer, music lover and reader, enjoys baseball and traveling. D’O looks forward to getting to know the Grace community!
